MLB Rumors: MLB mock drafts are being updated with the MLB draft just two days away now, and Baseball America has their latest mock draft out. This latest mock draft has the Texas Rangers taking Tennessee high school lefthanded pitcher Ryan Weathers, the son of longtime major league reliever David Weathers, with the Rangers’ first round pick at #15.

This draft has prepsters Jarred Kelenic, Connor Scott and Carter Stewart — all players that have been strongly linked with the Rangers -- off the board when Texas picks, while Grayson Rodriguez and Jordyn Adams, who the Rangers also have been said to have strong interest in, are still there.

We did a write-up on Weathers that you can check out here -- he’s considered more of the advanced, polished type of high school pitcher, rather than the projectable, high-ceiling type that the Rangers frequently seem to target. He’s currently #16 on the Baseball America top 500 draft rankings list.
