41-58 - Rangers have themselves a meltdown against Indians

The Rangers lost 16-3 which without the hyphen is probably also the current temperature

MLB: Cleveland Indians at Texas Rangers Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Tonight’s game was like last night’s game in that two teams played baseball for awhile and then the Indians won. Tonight’s game was unlike last night’s game in that the Rangers weren’t even marginally competitive against a much better team and lost by 13 runs.

Player of the Game: Shin-Soo Choo wasn’t the best player of the game as his streak has ended at 52 consecutive games after he failed to reach in his four appearances tonight but it should be mentioned once more just how wild reaching base in 52 straight games is. The streak is dead. Long live the streak!

Up Next: Oh these poor humans. The finale of this series is a day game which means they’ll have to deal with the sun in addition to the heat. Yovani Gallardo drew the short straw for Texas and will make the start against RHP Mike Clevinger for Cleveland. If the clock hasn’t melted off the stadium scoreboard by then, the time of the first pitch should read 2:05 pm CT.
