Me, tempting fate in the seventh inning:
We're going to need a recap here. The Rangers, most recently, lost a series to the Baltimore Orioles, lost a homestand 1-6 by a combined score of 66 to 40 and now they are within nine outs of almost effortlessly sweeping the Astros in Houston.

And so, though it became a lot less effortless there at the end, they did do that.
No, but really, what in the heck?
Player of the Game: Word is the Rangers are getting a lot of interest in Mike Minor here at the trade deadline. Unlike say another famous left-handed pitcher that the Rangers recently dealt, Minor is actually still good. He’s cheap, too. Someone wanna throw a Luiz Gohara my way? I’m down.
Today Minor threw six innings one start after he threw a season high 104 pitches. This was big because with Minor on a pitch/inning limit this season in his transition back to starter, he was still able to toss a quality start as he allowed two runs in his six innings and struck out eight Astros to pick up the win.
Up Next: The Rangers travel to Arizona for a brief two-game set against the Diamondbacks. In the opener, Martin Perez makes the start for Texas against LHP Robbie Ray for Arizona. First pitch from Chase Field is scheduled for 8:40 pm CT.
