Leody Taveras and C.D. Pelham are the Texas Rangers’ representatives in the All Star Futures Game, pitting minor leaguers from the United States against minor leaguers from the rest of the world on July 15, 2018.
Leody, 19, is the consensus top prospect in the Rangers system. The center fielder is currently one of the youngest players in the high-A Carolina League, where he has put up a .244/.320/.333 slash line while playing strong defense.
Pelham, 23, is a big, hard-throwing lefthanded reliever who has split the season between high-A and AA. In 31.1 innings, he has allowed 12 runs (8 earned) for a 2.30 ERA, with 39 Ks against 14 walks and no home runs allowed.
You can see the full rosters for the Futures Game, which will be live streamed on MLB.com and televised on MLB Network at 3 p.m. Central on July 15, here.
