Texas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo has been scratched from tonight’s lineup due to a contusion to his left eye and blurry vision suffered after a collision with Delino DeShields during batting practice, per John Blake on Twitter. Ryan Rua is replacing him in left field.

This is obviously not good news for Gallo, who has been struggling of late, but who hit a mammoth home run yesterday. Gallo was placed on the concussion disabled list late last season after a collision with Matt Bush while the two were pursuing a pop up, and depending on the severity of this issue, he could be placed in the concussion protocol and be a candidate to be placed the seven day concussion d.l., as Ronald Guzman was a little over a week ago.

We will update this when more information is available.
