Brandon Mann outrighted to AAA Round Rock

Brandon Mann, designated for assignment earlier this week, has been outrighted to AAA Round Rock

Texas Rangers transactions: Brandon Mann, the lefthanded pitcher who was designated for assignment when the Rangers claimed Zac Curtis on waivers, has cleared waivers and been assigned outright to Round Rock, the team announced yesterday.

Mann had gotten a look earlier in the season out of the bullpen, and was a nice story as a 34 year old who, after years of toiling in the minors, finally made it to the big leagues. However, with the Rangers needing 40 man roster space, Mann was the odd man out this time around. Because Mann had never been outrighted before, he could not reject this assignment, and thus stays in the Rangers’ system at AAA for the time being.
