Texas Rangers transactions: Delino DeShields has been activated from the 7 day concussion disabled list today, the Rangers have announced. To make room for DeShields on the active roster, outfielder Drew Robinson has been optioned to AAA Round Rock.
DeShields was placed on the disabled list late on August 3, after reporting symptoms consistent with post-concussion syndrome — DeShields was on the concussion disabled list earlier this year after a spill in the outfield — but he has since indicated that the issues he was dealing with may have been related to something different. In any case, he is active and will presumably resume regular duty in center field.
Robinson, meanwhile, heads back to AAA Round Rock again, where he will likely remain, barring injury, until rosters expand in September.
