Texas Rangers 2019 schedule released

MLB has released the 2019 schedule, and the Rangers begin and end the year at Globe Life Park

The Texas Rangers 2019 schedule is out, and the Rangers will begin and end their last year playing at Globe Life Park at home, with the Chicago Cubs coming to Arlington to start the season, and the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees coming to town for the last week of the season.

With it being the swan song for Globe Life — the new stadium is set to be ready for Opening Day, 2020 — the Powers That Be appear to have worked to open and close the year with a bang at Globe Life. The Rangers being matched up against the National League Central means that they can get the Cubbies for home games on March 28, March 30, and March 31 to kick off the season, then follow up with a three game set against the Astros. The Pirates come to town at the end of April, and the St. Louis Cardinals will be in Arlington in mid-May.

With week-long homestands to start and end the season, it means that in between there’s some grueling road trips, but the season will end on a relatively light travel note. The Rangers have off days on three straight Mondays to end the season — September 9, September 16, and September 23 — and play twelve of their final seventeen games at home. The lone road trip in that stretch consists of two games in Houston on September 17-18, and three games at Oakland on September 20-22.
