Texas Rangers have multiple prospects on BA All Star teams

Several Rangers prospects appear on the Baseball America classification all star teams

MLB: Texas Rangers-Media Day Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Baseball America has released their 2018 minor league all star teams and classification level all star teams, and while the Texas Rangers didn’t have anyone crack the overall minor league all star teams, they had several representatives on the classification level all star teams.

Leading the way among the Rangers prospects is Jonathan Hernandez, who was named to the high-A all star team, as well as being named the high-A Pitcher of the Year. Righthanded pitcher Tyler Phillips, who, like Hernandez, had a breakout season, was named to the low-A all star team.

The Rangers had three players apiece appear on the short-season All Star Team and the Dominican Summer League all star team. For short-season, Curtis Terry — who had previously won the Northwest League MVP award — was named as the first baseman, while Diosbel Arias was named as the third baseman, and Hans Crouse as one of the starting pitchers. For the DSL all star team, catcher Randy Florentino and shortstop Osleivis Basabe were named to the team, and Ronny Henriquez is one of the starting pitchers.

Congratulations to these players for their excellent seasons.
