66-90 - Rangers open final road trip of season with extra innings loss in Anaheim

If this tank’s a rockin’, don’t come a knockin’

MLB: Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Angels Richard Mackson-USA TODAY Sports

The Rangers tried their dangest to Bogar it up tonight as they scored the tying run in the ninth inning after a quick two outs began the frame. Matt Moore was having none of it, however, as he allowed an extra innings walk-off dinger to whatever the heck a Jose Briceno is.

Player of the Game: Ronald Guzman hit a solo home run. Jurickson Profar hit a two run home run. 2 > 1. Profar > Guzman.

Tank Update: Both the Reds and Tigers had the night off so the Rangers “gained” a half game on each in the loss column. Even so, Texas is still locked into the 8th pick in next year’s draft and will need to be worse than Cincinnati by a full game to leap frog them for the 7th pick.

Up Next: The Rangers and Angels will be back at it again on Tuesday night with Yovani Gallardo set to make the start for Texas against RHP Matt Shoemaker. First pitch from Angels Stadium is scheduled for 9:07 pm CT.
