61-80 - Rangers bitten by bullpenning A’s, get blasted 8-4

The A’s scored eight runs and Khris Davis drove in none of them so tonight is adjacent to a win

MLB: Texas Rangers at Oakland Athletics John Hefti-USA TODAY Sports

In case you were wondering if perhaps thinks had miraculously changed somehow in the last few weeks versus the last 40 years, no the Rangers still haven’t figured out how to easily score runs nor win at Oakland Coliseum.

Player of the Game: Joey Gallo was momentarily Coliseum-proof and hit a mammoth dong for his 35th of the year. Gallo followed that up with an RBI double and went 3-for-4 on the night with three runs batted in.

Up Next: Apparently Connor Sadzeck was supposed to be Saturday’s opener with Yohander Mendez as the primary pitcher. Sadzeck pitched in tonight game, however, so it might just be Mendez as your traditional starter tomorrow against RHP Edwin Jackson for the Athletics. First pitch from Oakland is scheduled for 3:05 pm CT.
