The Texas Rangers have claimed outfielder John Andreoli on waivers from the Seattle Mariners, it was announced today.
Andreoli, 28, has bounced around a bit in the past year, having been signed by the Mariners in January, 2018, claimed on waivers by the Baltimore Orioles from the Mariners in August, 2018, and then re-claimed by the Mariners in October, 2018. Andreoli is a righthanded hitter who can play all three outfield positions, and has a track record of getting on base in the minors, though he has a 546 OPS in 67 major league plate appearances.
He appears to be a depth piece, and could possibly end up back on waivers in the coming weeks.
With this move, the 40 man roster now stands at 39.
