Baseball America has released their top 20 prospects list for the Arizona Rookie League today, and the Texas Rangers had two players crack the list.
Bahamian infielder Keithron Moss was the highest ranked Rangers, at #12. Moss was 17 for most of the season and had a very nice offensive season while splitting time between second base and third base.
Also making the cut was Heriberto Hernandez, the righthanded hitter who mashed for the AZL club before moving up to Spokane for their NWL playoff push. Hernandez is a catcher currently, but probably will be a 1B or RF long term. He’s not real big, but he has mashed everywhere he’s been.
The Rangers’ AZL team won the league championship this year, and had a number of quality prospects who logged a fair amount of time on the club, including Alexander Ovalles, Osleivis Basabe, Randy Florentino, Keyber Rodriguez, Derwin Barreto and Cody Freeman.
