Gabe Kapler new Giants manager, per report

The San Francisco Giants have reportedly hired Gabe Kapler as their new manager

MLB: Miami Marlins at Philadelphia Phillies Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

MLB Rumors: Gabe Kapler is the new manager for the San Francisco Giants, per multiple reports. Kapler, who was fired at the end of the 2019 season by the Philadelphia Phillies after two years at the helm there, is replacing Bruce Bochy, who retired after 13 years managing the Giants.

Kapler is a former Texas Ranger who joined the front office of the Los Angeles Dodgers in November, 2014, and worked in a player development role there until being hired by the Phillies. Farhan Zaidi was also named the general manager of the Dodgers in November, 2014, and thus was Kapler’s boss during that time. Zaidi left the Dodgers after the 2018 season to become the president of baseball operations for the Giants, and the connection between Kapler and Zaidi dating back to their Dodger days led many to view Kapler as the favorite for the job.
