Wednesday morning Rangers news and links

Good morning, folks...

I’m doing the links this morning because Ben is at the airport picking up a dog that has been rescued from the meat markets in Korea and sent to the Metroplex to be adopted. And this is a reminder that if you’d like to contribute to Animal Hope, the shelter that my family operates and that Ben runs, so that they can save more Korean meat market dogs and provide medical care for animals that need treatment before they can be adopted, you can do so here.

The Rangers made some promotions and moves with their major league staff and their minor league operations yesterday, with the most prominent being Corey Ragsdale joining the major league staff as Field Coordinator, the position Jayce Tingler had last year.

Jon Daniels says the Rangers are ready to go big in the free agent market this offseason.

Josh Donaldson could be the Rangers’ best option to acquire to play third base next season.

Evan Grant asks whether Danny Santana is the front-runner for the center field job in 2020.

Jonathan Mayo runs down the Rule 5 eligible players on each team’s top 30 prospect list (per MLB Pipeline), though three of the eight Rangers who are strong candidates to be protected (Joe Barlow, Demarcus Evans, Kyle Cody) are not on the MLB Pipeline top 30.

The Houston Astros are in trouble once again.
