Sam Dyson is being investigated by MLB regarding domestic violence allegations, per the Athletic. Dyson, a former Texas Rangers relief pitcher currently with the Minnesota Twins, is being investigated after his former girlfriend, Alexis Blackburn, posted messages on Instagram about being the victim of abuse in a relationship, as well as on the Instagram account of her cat, though she did not identify the perpetrator.
Per the Athletic, the perpetrator is allegedly Dyson, and MLB is taking steps to determine what has happened between Dyson and Blackburn. MLB has the ability to take disciplinary action against Dyson, should it be determined that he has violated MLB’s policy on domestic violence.
Dyson pitched for the Rangers from mid-2015 until he was traded to San Francisco in 2017. The Giants dealt him to Minnesota last year at the trade deadline.
