MLB Rumors: Dallas Keuchel and the Chicago White Sox have agreed on a deal, per Jeff Passan on Twitter. Ken Rosenthal is reporting it is a 3 year deal in the $54-56 million range. The 31 year old left handed starting pitcher re-entered the free agent market this offseason after failing to land a long-term deal last offseason, when Keuchel didn’t sign until June.
Keuchel is the type of low-K, groundball-heavy pitcher that has fallen out of favor in recent years, but he has had at least a 111 ERA+ in five of the last six years, and would give a young ChiSox rotation a steady veteran presence.
UPDATE — Jon Heyman says it is 3 years, $55.5 million with a fourth year vesting optionthat could make it worth $74 million.
