Free agent pitcher Rich Hill and his wife, Caitlin, were arrested yesterday outside of Gillette Stadium prior to the New England Patriots game against the Buffalo Bills. Caitlin was apparently arrested after repeatedly trying to enter the stadium with an “oversized bag” and apparently not taking “no” for an answer. After she was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing, Hill, supposedly, interfered with them trying to put her in a cop car, and so he was arrested as well.
I have been trying to think of a witty line or something to accompany this story, but I can’t think of anything. The report itself will have to suffice in that regard.
Hill, who turns 40 in March, has spent the last three seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, having resuscitated his career in 2015 with a minor league stint with the Boston Red Sox that saw him turn himself into a really good starting pitcher. He has struggled to stay healthy, however, and had surgery on his elbow at the end of the 2019 season that will keep him on the shelf until after the start of the 2020 season.
