Evan Grant says the Rangers have been informed they are out on Wheeler

MLB Rumors: Zack Wheeler has informed the Texas Rangers they are no longer a team he is considering, per Evan Grant. Wheeler has been one of the Rangers top offseason targets, but reports had indicated that the Philadelphia Phillies and the Cincinnati Reds were very aggressive on him and appeared to be the front-runners.

With Wheeler out of the mix, Stephen Strasburg likely to return to Washington, and Gerrit Cole seen as preferring a West Coast destination, the Rangers will likely have to focus on other targets. Hyun-Jin Ryu and Dallas Keuchel are on the market, and the Boston Red Sox are looking to shed the contracts of David Price and/or Nathan Eovaldi, who could be of interest for Texas
