Good morning, folks...
The big Texas Rangers news yesterday was Willie Calhoun being informed he would not make the Opening Day roster. Calhoun did everything he needed to this spring, but there simply weren’t enough at bats for him with the starters the Rangers currently have.
Hunter Pence did make the Opening Day roster for the Rangers, and it made him emotional to hear the news.
Levi Weaver writes that Pence making the team is not why Calhoun didn’t make the team.
Chris Woodward announced the order of the starting rotation to start the season.
Jeff Wilson runs down seven players who had strong springs, but who may not (or will not) make the Opening Day roster.
Evan Grant looks at the team’s struggle to develop pitching.
Gerry Fraley looks at who’s hot and who’s not this spring.
