2019 MLB Mock Draft: Baseball America’s latest mock draft is out, and BA has the Rangers going with University of Missouri outfielder Kameron Misner at #8, passing on, among others, Texas Tech third baseman Josh Jung and Baylor catcher Shea Langeliers.

Misner is currently #5 on the Baseball America top 300 draft prospect list, and is a big, lefthanded hitting center fielder with power and solid tools across the board. Going with Misner would be a departure for the Rangers, who have generally gone with prep players with their early picks in recent years.

The last mock draft for the Rangers had the Rangers selecting Seattle prep outfielder Corbin Carroll who drops to the Blue Jays in this new mock. If I had to guess, I’d say Carroll is more likely than Misner to be taken by the Rangers, but at this point, it is largely just guesswork.
