Good morning, folks...

After being told on Friday that he had made the final roster for the Texas Rangers, pitcher Jason Hammel informed the team yesterday that he was retiring.

Jeff Wilson writes that Hammel’s late decision has the team with some decisions to make to fill out the bullpen.

Hammel said he wanted to spend more time with his family.

Willie Calhoun reported to camp on Saturday, and called Chris Woodward, Jon Daniels and teammates Friday night to say that he was going to work hard in AAA and do what he needed to do to be ready for a call-up, and not let the demotion affect his performance.

Levi Weaver runs down a day highlighted by Hammel and Calhoun news.

The team is excited about what they’ve seen from Rougned Odor this spring.

T.R. Sullivan talks about the Rangers’ hopes for 2019 depending a lot on three pitchers coming back from Tommy John surgery.

Evan Grant does a month-by-month prediction of the coming Rangers season.
