Good morning.

Jeff Wilson writes that Edinson Volquez felt better in his second outing this spring as he looks to return to big league action this season for the first time since 2017 following Tommy John surgery.

T.R. Sullivan includes Volquez’s effort in this notes from Monday’s activities in Rangers‘ camp.

Wilson writes that 2017 first round pick Bubba Thompson made the most of his action in a big league game yesterday as he hit a two-run dinger over the center field fence. I’m a Bubba believer.

Levi Weaver takes a look at the DeShields lineage which has produced two big league center fielders and a star guard in the WNBA.

Wilson polled some folks around the Rangers to name the players who have stood out the most at spring training thus far.

Sullivan writes that the Rangers are hoping that this is the year that Connor Sadzeck takes the step forward and becomes a big part of the back end of the bullpen in Texas.

Jamey Newberg examines what Eli White brings to the table and ponders if he could offer something that Texas hasn’t been able to find in years.

And, lastly, Eric Longenhagen and Kiley McDaniel over at Fangraphs have updated their 2019 MLB Draft rankings and have included some notes which could end up relevant to the drafting-8th-overall-Rangers.

Have a nice day!
