Go Stars!

Good morning.

Jeff Wilson writes that aside from an uncharacteristically boring loss by Rangers, the big concern from last night was Elvis Andrus’ health after getting hit by a pitch.

Evan Grant notes that Elvis and the Rangers dodged a baseball-as-bullet with Elvis coming out of the game with merely a contusion and no broken bones.

Wilson’s Reactions cover the 6-1 loss against Oakland but also Joey Gallo’s growth so far this season.

Grant notes that thanks to the power of the sac fly, Gallo was named the American League Player of the Week yesterday.

David Adler of MLB dot com has more on Gallo’s award which he garnered opposite Christian Yelich from the National League.

Now that Gallo is winning PotW honors and getting noticed for his popcorn abuse, Jeff Wilson asked Gallo if he’d risk the fidelity of his swing to go for the $1 million Home Run Derby prize at this year’s All-Star Game festivities.

Grant writes that the Rangers are gaining a reputation for skillfully reading opponents so far in the Chris Woodward era.

Jared Sandler’s Sandbox reviews a successful homestand for the Rangers which saw them take six of eight against AL West rivals.

Chris Haft writes for MLB dot com about Hunter Pence returning to the Bay Area now a member of the Rangers and also pens a note on Rougned Odor’s status.

Grant offers his stock report on who’s hot and who’s not for the Rangers over the last week.

Adam McInturff over at 2080 Baseball has released an extensive review of the farm which includes thoughts on the strengths and weaknesses of the Rangers system.

And, lastly, heck yes the Stars!

Have a nice day!
