Its early, but some Rangers pitching prospects are putting up some really sexy numbers so far

Okay, last night’s game was awful. If we were, for some reason, to go back at season’s end and find the worst game of 2019 for the Texas Rangers, last night’s would probably be at the top of the list.

But let’s not dwell on that. Instead, let’s look at some Big, Sexy Numbers for some of the Rangers pitching prospects in the lower minors so far this year.

Hans Crouse, Hickory — 20.1 IP, 23 of 77 batters faced fanned, 3 walks, 1.33 ERA

Jason Bahr, Down East — 15.1 IP, 16 Ks, 9 walks, 8 hits allowed, 1.76 ERA

Tyler Phillips, Down East — 24.2 IP, 16 Ks, 1 walk, 1.46 ERA

Yerry Rodriguez, Hickory — 15 IP, 17 Ks, 3 walks, 1.20 ERA

Demarcus Evans, Down East — 8.1 IP, 15 of 35 batters fanned, 4 walks, 2.16 ERA

Cole Uvila, Hickory/Down East — 11 IP, 17 of 37 batters fanned, 3 walks, 0.00 ERA

John King, Hickory — 15 IP, 17 Ks, 1 walk, 0 HRs, 3.00 ERA

Emmanuel Clase, Down East/Frisco — 9.1 IP, 13 Ks, 1 walk, 0 runs allowed

Joe Barlow, Down East — 8.2 IP, 17 of 39 batters fanned, 9 walks, 1.04 ERA

Oh, and it sounds like Cole Ragans, who missed all of last year with Tommy John surgery, is just a week or two away from pitching in live games.

Be patient. It will take a couple of years, but there are a lot of arms on the way.
