13-13 - Rangers make grand return to win column with 15-1 massacre of Mariners

Mike Minor lead the way as Rangers finally win a baseball game again

MLB: Texas Rangers at Seattle Mariners Jennifer Buchanan-USA TODAY Sports

The Rangers looked mighty sick of losing baseball games tonight as they took it to the Mariners in a 15-1 win that snapped a five-game losing streak which had spanned this entire road trip thus far.

That one was for Taylor Hearn. ;_;

Player of the Game: There was a heck of a lot to like from an offense that scored 15 (!) runs (including dueling three-run dongs from Elvis Andrus and Rougned Odor) but you can’t ignore Mike Minor’s start tonight as basically Texas’ lone stable starting pitcher gave the team seven extremely-necessary innings of one-run ball where he allowed just three M’s hits, walked one, and struck out a career high 13 (!) batters.

Honestly, just build the entire Texas Rangers out of Mike Minors.

Up Next: The Rangers have a chance to end this road trip on a fairly positive note with a couple of wins and a series split in Seattle but that will require them to win in a non-Mike Minor start and that’s a been a difficult accomplishment of late.

Nevertheless, Lance Lynn will give it a go in Sunday’s finale opposite RHP poltergeistofErikSwanson for Seattle. The finale from still Safeco Field T-Mobile Park is scheduled for 3:10 pm CT.
