Texas Rangers pitcher Brock Burke, currently with the Frisco Roughriders, has been placed on the 7 day injured list. Burke, who pitched Frisco’s opener on Thursday, developed a blister, and so the Rangers are giving that a chance to heal before sending him back out on the mound.
Burke, a 22 year old left hander, went five innings for the Roughriders in his one appearance, striking out 4 while allowing a single unearned run. Burke came over from Tampa Bay in the three-way deal that sent Jurickson Profar to Oakland, and had an impressive camp. The blister should not keep him out of action long, and there’s a good chance he will be pitching in Arlington before the season is up.
