20-23 - Sloppy Rangers muck through 8-2 loss to Cardinals

The Rangers would have been better off with the rain washing this one away

MLB: St. Louis Cardinals at Texas Rangers Jim Cowsert-USA TODAY Sports

Pretty rude of the Rangers to lose to the Cardinals in front of Mike Napoli in my opinion.

After a nearly three hour delay due to severe storms in Texas, the Rangers dragged themselves out to the field to play a baseball game that seemed like a slog from the start and continued to be so throughout the evening.

The miscuses were plentiful for the home team with baserunning gaffes, poor pitch receiving, costly errors and other defensive blunders, and six free passes from the pitching staff — with each of the Rangers’ five pitchers on the day allowing at least one walk.

Yuck.

Up Next: The Rangers and Cardinals conclude this series with the rubber match featuring LHP Drew Smyly making the start for Texas against RHP Jack Flaherty for St. Louis. First pitch from Sunday’s finale in Arlington is scheduled for 2:05 pm CT.
