Texas Rangers outfielder Willie Calhoun was removed from tonight’s game due to a tight left quad. Calhoun is set to be re-evaluated tomorrow.
The Rangers called up Calhoun when Elvis Andrus went on the injured list on May 15. Calhoun has had an immediate impact, hitting well and giving the team a shot in the arm. With a three man bench, if Calhoun can’t go tomorrow, the Rangers would likely have to look at bringing up a player from AAA Nashville. Zack Granite, Carlos Tocci and Delino DeShields all can play center field, which would probably be a preference for the Rangers, who are dealing with limited positional flexibility right now.
