14-16 - Rangers bested by Blue Jays 1-0 in 12

The Rangers had four hits total in what amounted to one and a third games of baseball

Well that sure was much ado about nothing...

Texas is now two games below .500 for the first time this year. That’s a bummer but it’s kind of amazing and that it took them this long to get to a low water mark that many were probably anticipating as early as the second game of the season.

Player of the Game: Mike Minor continued his rampage through the American League with another stellar outing in tonight’s ballgame. Minor went eight innings on 116 pitches and worked around seven hits and two walks by striking out nine and inducing two double plays to allow zero Blue Jays runs.

Unfortunately, the Rangers never really came close to scoring a run while he was in the game and squandered their brief opportunities in extras.

Up Next: The Rangers and Blue Jays will reconvene on Saturday night for the second game of this series with Lance Lynn set to make the start for Texas against the venerable TBD for Toronto. First pitch from The Ballpark is scheduled for 7:05 pm CT.
