TODAY 1830 – U.S. President Andrew Jackson signed the Indian Removal Act into law, authorizing him to negotiate with Native Americans for their removal from their ancestral homelands.

(Really weird way to say "negotiate.")

In Wyoming there is a road called Chief Joseph Highway. It used to be called Dead Indian highway. I'm going with the latter was a little crude. Still beautiful views from it. Overlooks the Sunlight basin.

Wyoming Highway 296 also known as the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway is in the U.S. state of Wyoming and follows the route taken by Chief Joseph as he led the Nez Perce Indians out of Yellowstone National Park and into Montana in 1877 during their attempt to flee the U.S. Cavalry and escape into Canada.
