15-16 - Toronto all bark as Texas bites Blue Jays 8-5

A night after going almost a game and a half without scoring a single run, the Rangers scored eight runs in tonight’s game to pick up the win in front of their most good fans:

Player of the Game: In his first appearance in May, with the closer title lifted, Jose Leclerc came in to pitch in the top for the seventh and hurled a 1-2-3 inning with two strikeouts throwing all but four pitches for a strike.

Getting Leclerc right will be a huge storyline for the rest of the season but maybe all it took was alleviating him of the cursed ninth inning in Arlington.

Additionally, Isiah Kiner-Falefa had a nice game which saw him smack a three-run triple and tally a total of four runs driven in on the night. IKF needed a game like that after a slow start at the plate and a trying go at his full time conversion to catcher thus far.

Up Next: The Rangers and Blue Jays play the rubber match in Sunday’s finale with Drew Smyly set to make his return to the rotation for Texas against RHP Clay Buchholz for Toronto. First pitch from The Ballpark is scheduled for 2:05 pm CT.
