2019 MLB Draft: an updated mock draft is out from Baseball America — apparently the next-to-last version before their final version goes up tomorrow — and after previously mocking Lake Travis third baseman Brett Baty to Texas, this update has Texas Tech third baseman Josh Jung going to Texas.

At this point it is fair to say that no one knows what the Rangers are going to do, with BA mentioning Baty, Jung, Hunter Bishop, Alek Manoah, Shea Langeliers and Jackson Rutledge all as possible options here. The Rangers’ spot at #8 is where most folks seem to think the draft could get really interesting, as the consensus continues to be that there are six players who will go in some order in the top six, with TCU’s Nick Lodolo expected to go to the Cincinnati Reds at #7. Texas appears to have a number of players all similarly rated here, and it sounds like they’re going to go with whoever they can cut the best deal with, leaving them more money to spend in the later rounds.
