Hunter Pence starting DH for A.L. All Star team

Hunter Pence has won the voting and been named the starting DH for the American League All Star Team

The 2019 MLB All Star Team has Hunter Pence as the starting designated hitter for the American League, with the voting announced tonight showing Pence at the top of the list. He beat out Nelson Cruz and J.D. Martinez, the other two of three finalists who were voted on between yesterday and this afternoon at 3 p.m.

Joey Gallo was also a finalist for a starting outfield spot, but fell short, with Mike Trout, George Springer and Michael Brantley finishing ahead of him in the voting.

2B — D.J. Lemahieu

SS — Jorge Polanco

3B — Alex Bregman

1B — Freddie Freeman
