Monday Morning Texas Rangers Update

It’s gotta be the shorts!

MLB: Kansas City Royals at Texas Rangers Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning.

Chuck Carlton at the DMN writes about the Rangers closing out the series against the Royals with a 5-1 win yesterday behind a great outing from Adrian Sampson.

T.R. Sullivan writes that Sampson didn’t need an opener as he cruised to a win with a career high 11 Ks against KC.

Carlton offers up more on the Joey Gallo injury front with New York Yankees’ slugger Aaron Judge providing Gallo with advice following his own oblique strain.

The MLB draft begins later this evening with the Rangers slated to make the No. 8 overall selection and three of the first 50 overall picks. With that in mind, Sullivan offers a draft preview for what to expect.

Evan Grant gives you a list of five guys whose name you might hear the Rangers call when they make their first round selection.

Grant also held a Q&A with former Rockies GM and current draft analyst Dan O’Dowd about what the Rangers might be looking for in tonight’s draft.

And, lastly, former successful draft selection Joey Gallo is the player Will Leitch names as the Texas player most deserving of an All-Star game nod as an All-Star newcomer.

Have a nice day!
