The Hickory Crawdads had the just-turned-19-year-old righty from the Dominican Republic, Ronny Henriquez, on the mound today. Henriquez is one of the youngest players in the Sally League and the Rangers challenged him by putting him in full season ball, but he has responded well. Henriquez went 5 IP today, striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 1 run on 4 hits. His ERA is down to 3.50 on the year.

The bats also had some big days...Sherten Apostel homered, singled and walked, Miguel Aparicio singled, doubled and walked, Jonathan Ornelas homered, Melvin Novoa was a triple short of a cycle, and Tyreque Reed had three walks.

For Frisco, Brock Burke allowed 6 hits in 6 innings, with 0 walks, 5 strikeouts, a homer and 4 runs. Matt Bush faced two batters and allowed a homer to one of them for his first run allowed this year. Joe Barlow fanned all three batters he faced, and elicited oohs and aahs on Twitter from those watching. Leody Taveras went 2 for 5 with a triple, and now has a 716 OPS in his brief stint in Frisco.

Nashville got hammered tonight, but Kyle Bird pitched two scoreless with 4 Ks, and Scott Heineman had 3 hits.
