Texas Rangers transactions: Kyle Bird has been recalled from AAA Nashville, the team announced today. The Rangers had an open spot on the 25 man roster after optioning Joe Palumbo to AAA Nashville after Sunday’s game.

Bird hasn’t allowed a run in 7 outings for Nashville sent being sent back down at the end of May, and he joins Brett Martin and Jesse Biddle as lefthanded bullpen options.

In addition, Hunter Pence is joining Frisco tonight to resume his rehab assignment. Pence was on a rehab assignment last week and hoped to be back for the final series of the first half, but he had a setback that put him on the sidelines for the end of the first half and then the All Star Game. Pence could, per the beat guys, be back this weekend.
