  • That’s a nice way to come back from the Break.
  • The Lance Lynn Experience continues to surprise and amaze. Against a potent Astros team, Lynn labored a bit the first couple of innings, and there was some reason to question how deep into the game he would be able to go. As it turns out the answer was 7 shutout innings, with 6 hits, 2 walks and a whopping 11 strikeouts. Lynn’s ERA is down to 3.69 on the year.
  • Jose Leclerc pitched a scoreless 8th and Chris Martin pitched a scoreless 9th in relief, and kept drama minimized.
  • Texas jumped all over Houston starter Framber Valdez, chasing him with two outs in the first inning after batting around and scoring four runs. Chris Devenski came in and retired Shin-Soo Choo with the bases loaded to end the first, and Texas scored just once the rest of the way.
  • Rougned Odor picked up where he left off before the break, doubling twice and walking. Shin-Soo Choo also had a pair of hits and a walk, and every other Ranger had a hit.
  • Three more to go in the series, but Texas has set a good early tone today.
