Hans Crouse has been dealing with bone spurs in his elbow and had a bad start his last time out, leading some to wonder if he might get shut down and have season-ending surgery. Jon Daniels said today, though, that Crouse will continue to pitch, and postpone the surgery to remove the spurs until after the season. Crouse took the mound tonight and showed he still can perform, going 4 shutout IP, allowing 3 hits, 2 walks and striking out 7.
Brock Burke started for Frisco today, and allowed 3 first inning runs but then had 4 shutout innings after that, with 3 hits allowed. 2 walks and 4 Ks. Demarcus Evans gave up 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 1 in an inning. Rehabbing Hunter Pence was 0-4.
For Down East, Yanio Perez followed up yesterday’s walkoff three run home run with two more homers tonight. Sam Huff had a homer and a walk and J.P. Martinez had a double.
