Sherten Apostel, the big third baseman who came over to Texas in the Keone Kela trade last year, got off to a slow start in his introduction to full season ball, but has been on a tear since mid-May. Apostel hit two more home runs for Hickory today before leaving in the 7th inning. With Josh Jung headed to Hickory tomorrow, there’s much speculation that Apostel may be on his way across the state to join Down East and finish the year in high-A. The 20 year old righty had a .301/.369/.560 slash line from May 15 through yesterday. The Crawdads also got home runs tonight from Miguel Aparicio and Tyreque Reed. Jesus Linarez threw 4 shutout innings with 2 Ks, including one of Andrew Vaughn.

John King continued doing solid work for Down East today, allowing 2 runs in 6 IP, on 8 hits and 1 walk, striking out 2. Cole Uvila was wild, walking 4 while striking out 2 in an inning of work. Yohel Pozo, meanwhile, went 3 for 4 at the plate.
