D-Backs 9, Rangers 2
- That off day yesterday didn’t appear to help.
- Lance Lynn, who has been strong all year, had another 6 inning outing and another 100+ outing but struggled early and late, ultimately allowing 5 runs.
- Taylor Guerrieri, called up today from Nashville to audition for a middle relief job, gave up 4 runs and retired one batter. Errors hurt him but still...
- Phillips Valdez got into the game to finish out the 9th for Guerrieri and that was his fifth appearance of the year, and I don’t think I remember the other four, other than vaguely recalling that he appeared in that doubleheader when Joe Palumbo was called up to start.
- Brett Martin threw two scoreless innings, Joey Gallo had a home run, and Danny Santana has two hits. Pretty much everything else tonight we want to forget about.
- Texas goes for a split tomorrow, and then has another off day on Thursday, so let’s get a win so we don’t have to spend the off day dwelling over a four game losing streak.
