Texas Rangers outfielder Joey Gallo is getting an MRI today after leaving last night’s game against the Seattle Mariners with a sore wrist. Chris Woodward said after the game that Gallo (who has been mired in a deep slump this month) has been battling a wrist issue for some time.

Gallo is out of the lineup today, and if he ends up needing a stint on the i.l., T.R. Sullivan says Willie Calhoun would be called back up. Gallo missed time earlier this year with a strained oblique, and given his size and how powerful his swing is, there’s always going to be a concern about how often he will be dinged up (as we have seen with Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton).

Hopefully, we will know more after the results from the MRI come back later today.
