MLB Trade Rumors: The Kansas City Royals have traded Jake Diekman to the Oakland A’s, per reports on Twitter. Diekman is a lefthanded reliever who spent the previous several seasons with the Texas Rangers, prior to the Rangers dealing Diekman to the Arizona Diamondbacks last summer for relief pitcher Wei-Chieh Huang and pitcher Joshua Javier.

Diekman has a 4.75 ERA and a 3.37 FIP in 41.2 IP this season. The A’s reportedly have given up two prospects for him, but the identity has not been revealed.

UPDATE — The Royals received OF Dairon Blanco and RHP Ismael Aquino from the A’s. Blanco is a 26 year old Cuban outfielder currently playing at AA Midland. Blanco was described when he signed with the A’s in December, 2017, as an 80 runner, and is 26th on the BA midseason top 30 list for the A’s. Aquino is a 20 year old righthanded pitcher pitching for one of the A’s AZL teams. He isn’t in the BA, MLB Pipeline or Fangraphs rankings for the A’s.
