MLB: Texas Rangers at Oakland Athletics D. Ross Cameron-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, folks...

The Texas Rangers fell to the Oakland A’s by a score of 5-4 yesterday.

The S-T has their Rangers Reaction to last night’s loss.

There was conflict between Adrian Sampson and Mark Canha, and Adrian Sampson and Ramon Laureano, yesterday, a carryover from Sampson’s last start against the A’s, that resulted in some posturing and a benches-clearing incident after Rafael Montero hit Laureano with a pitch in the 8th.

Evan Grant’s game story talks about that drama, and whether it will carry over to today’s series finale.

Levi Weaver talks about the brouhaha and its aftermath.

Mike Minor’s next start is being moved from Tuesday, the day before the trade deadline, to Wednesday evening, after the Wednesday afternoon trade deadline, as the Rangers seek to avoid issues with potentially scratching him late, or having him distracted by trade rumors.

Edinson Volquez says he is retiring after this season, though he hopes to return to the mound and pitch out of the bullpen before the end of 2019.

Kevin Sherrington says the Rangers need to make some big trade moves to re-stock the farm.

Mac Engel says the team is bad and should sell, and also throws in a Nolan Ryan reference.
