Curtis Terry mashes in shortened game

Down East’s game was called early, keeping Curtis Terry from a shot at a cycle

Since moving up to Down East from Hickory, 22 year old first baseman (and 2018 Northwest League MVP) has done nothing but mash. After two home runs yesterday, Terry had a single, a double and a homer today before the game was called after six innings due to rain. Terry now has a 1094 OPS in his just over two weeks for the Ducks. J.P. Martinez, meanwhile, also had a homer.

For Frisco, Kyle Dowdy continued his rehab stint with an inning of work, striking out 1 and allowing a hit. Isiah Kiner-Falefa caught for Frisco as part of his ongoing rehab and went 2 for 4 with a walk. Demarcus Evans pitched an inning, striking out 2, walking 1 and giving up a hit, lowering his ERA for Frisco to 1.62. Joe Barlow pitched 2 shutout innings with 2 Ks, lowering his ERA to 1.20.

For the AZL Rangers, Wei-Chieh Huang pitched an inning, his first action since going on the injured list at the end of May. He could be back with Nashville by the end of the week. For the hitters, Alexander Ovalles had a triple, a steal and a walk, Osleivis Basabe had a pair of singles and a triple, Keyber Rodriguez had a double and a walk and Randy Florentino had a hit and a walk.
