Jonathan Hernandez got the ball for Frisco tonight, and for the first five innings, he had a very good outing, allowing just 1 run on a 4th inning homer. However, things went south in the sixth, as he gave up a walk, a single, a double and another single before being pulled without recording an out. His final line was 5 IP, 4 runs, 6 hits, 2 walks, and 3 Ks. Emmanuel Clase pitched the final two innings, with 2 walks and 4 Ks.
Leody Taveras had a pair of hits, Yonny Hernandez had 3 hits, and Charles Leblanc had a hit and 3 walks.
John King pitched for Down East tonight and had a typical John King outing — 5 IP, 1 hit (a home run), 1 run, 2 walks and 5 Ks. His ERA is down to 1.87. Among the hitters, Sam Huff had a homer and a single, and also left the game with an injury, the nature of which I do not currently know. Yohel Pozo, the other catcher on the roster, was DHing, so when he moved behind the plate the Ducks lost their DH for the night.
For Hickory this evening, Sherten Apostel had 2 singles and a double, and Melvin Novoa, Tyreque Reed and Pedro Gonzalez all had hits. Novoa could be moving back up to Down East if Huff goes on the injured list.
