Phillips, King get hit a bit

Rangers piping prospects John King and Tyler Phillips were hittable today

Tyler Phillips took the mound for Frisco tonight, and while he made it through the first three innings without allowing any runs, he was touched up for 3 runs in the 4th, and 4 runs in the 5th before being lifted with two outs in the inning. He didn’t walk anyone, but struck out just 2 while allowing 10 hits, including a home run. Offensively, Leody Taveras had a double, and Charles Leblanc and Andretty Cordero each had a single and a home run.

John King started for Down East, and also gave up a bunch of hits, though with better luck in regards to allowing runs. In 4 IP King allowed 7 hits and 3 walks, striking out 4, but allowed just a single run. J.P. Martinez and Sam Huff each doubled, and Sherten Apostel had a single and a double.

For Nashville, Wei-Chieh Huang threw 2 scoreless innings, allowing 1 hit and 3 walks while striking out 4. Nick Solak had a single and a double, and Eli White had a pair of singles and a double.
