The Hickory Crawdads had Ronny Henriquez on the mound today, and the 19 year old righthander had some problems, getting knocked out in the second inning. He allowed 6 runs on 7 hits and a walk in 1.1 IP, striking out 2. Jesus Linarez had a very nice outing in relief of him, throwing 4.1 IP, allowing 2 hits and 3 walks, striking out 4 and lowering his ERA to 1.99.

Josh Jung had a big game for the Crawdads — the Rangers first rounder had a single, a home runs and a pair of HBPs. Tyreque Reed had a home run, Jonathan Ornelas had a pair of walks, and Miguel Aparicio had a single and a double.

Joe Palumbo got the start for Nashville this evening. He went 5 IP, allowed one run on 3 hits (1 a homer) while walking 1 and striking out 7. Wei-Chieh Huang went 2 IP, striking out 3. Eli White had to leave the game after three after fouling a ball off his knee. Nick Solak had a single and a homer.

Tim Brennan allowed one run for Down East in 5 IP, giving up 2 hits (1 a home run) along with 1 walk and 4 Ks. Down East had 3 hits (and no runs) — the hits were singles by J.P. Martinez (who also had a steal), Curtis Terry and Sherten Apostel. Bubba Thompson had 2 walks and a stolen base.

Jonathan Hernandez started for Frisco but only worked 2 innings, continuing to give us reason to believe he’s being viewed as a reliever right now. He allowed 0 runs, 0 hits, 1 walk and 1 K. Demarcus Evans pitched for the third time in four nights and allowed a hit, an intentional walk, an unintentional walk, and struck out 3.

Destin Dotson threw 6 innings for the AZL Rangers, allowing 1 run on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 2 Ks. He has a 1.47 ERA.
