Hey, there’s Lance Lynn, though. Not a particularly good outing and he still allowed just 1 run, albeit in only 5 innings. It was the first time since April that Lynn hasn’t gone 6 innings, and only the second time this season he hasn’t pitched more than 5.
Lynn’s ERA is down to 3.54 on the year and I continue to wonder how he will do in the postseason award balloting. There’s a case to be made that he should be the A.L. Cy Young Award winner this year, though the chances of him actually winning appear slim.
Shawn Kelley gave up 2 home runs, which would be a bigger deal if the Rangers had scored any runs today.
Emmanuel Clase is fun. He had a scoreless inning and throws really hard.
David Carpenter is back, and threw a scoreless inning. I wonder if he got the call to come up because he was the only pitcher in the upper levels who had his passport with him.
I don’t think I want to talk about the offense tonight. It will just bum me out.
The good news is tomorrow’s game is the finale of the Road Trip Offense Forgot.
