Quality start for Hans Crouse Tuesday

Hickory’s Hans Crouse went 6 innings in his start Tuesday night

Hickory righthander Hans Crouse continues to battle his way through the 2019 season, and tonight he logged another quality start, going 6 IP and allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, including a home run, and 6 Ks, walking 1. Offensively, Pedro Gonzalez had a pair of hits, Melvin Novoa had three hits, including two home runs, and Josh Jung had a single and a walk.

Tyler Phillips started off strong for Frisco tonight before allowing 1 run in the 4th and 3 runs in the 5th. The long ball got to Phillips, as he gave up just 4 hits, but 3 of them were home runs. Phillips walked 1 and struck out 3. Jonathan Hernandez threw a shutout inning in relief, walking 1. Leody Taveras was hitless, but drew a pair of walks.

Brock Burke struggled for Nashville, allowing 6 runs in 3 IP. Wei-Chieh Huang had 2 scoreless innings, Shane Carle had 2 scoreless innings, Kyle Bird had a scoreless inning, and Locke St. John gave up 4 runs in 1 IP. Nick Solak had a single, a double and a walk, Ronald Guzman had a hit, Patrick Wisdom had a pair of singles and a pair of doubles, Eli White had a double and two walks, and Scott Heineman had a hit.

Down East had a single and a walk from Sam Huff, a single and a walk from Sherten Apostel, and Two hits and a walk from Diosbel Arias.

For Spokane, Ricky Vanasco allowed 1 run on 3 hits and 3 walks in 3.1 IP, striking out 5.

Edinson Volquez continued his rehab with the AZL Rangers, throwing a scoreless inning. Damian Mendoza struck out 4 and walked no one in 5 scoreless innings. Heriberto Hernandez had a pair of hits, and Keithron Moss had a single and two doubles.
